Disability Studies

As a member of the academic community, I have often participated in making campus more accessible, in line with the goals of the disability rights movement. At UCSC, I’m focusing on:

— Incorporating disability into discussions of diversity, equity, and inclusion. I currently serve on the Committee on Affirmative Action and Diversity (CAAD) and have served on multiple job searches and taskforces.

— Co-leading the 2022-23 disability cluster through UCSC’s Humanities Institute (with Megan Moodie).

— Considering how to “map” complicated campuses (like UCSC) through the RSA mapping project.

— Presenting at 2023 Practical Activisms on Disability Pedagogy as Disability Justice (slides) and script.
