Disability Studies

As a member of the academic community, I have often participated in making campus more accessible, in line with the goals of theĀ disability rights movement.

At UCSC, my activities include:

— Incorporating disability into discussions of diversity, equity, and inclusion. I served on the Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (2019-20023), two high-profile DEI searches, and campus taskforces on disability.

— Hosting a website and a listserv for disability events at UCSC.

— Co-leading 2022-23 THI disability cluster through UCSC’s Humanities Institute (with Megan Moodie).

— Presenting at the 2023 Practical Activisms on Disability Pedagogy as Disability Justice (slides) and script.

— Participating in UCSC’s Disabled Faculty Networking Group.

— Bringing disability scholars and activists to campus.
