The Writing Program at UCSC is a great place with smart and passionate teachers. I love it, and I am honored to chair the program.

My priorities are as follows:

> Research-Based Best Practices: This has included my work on Directed Self-Placement and my leadership on our work to relaunch a writing minor.

> Documentation of Writing Program Practices: I have creating writing program guides, rearticulated personnel procedures, and redesigned websites.

> Hiring, Reviewing, and Mentoring: I lead a program of 50+ faculty and an incredible staff.

> Crisis Response: I worked to rebuild community in the WP in the “post-pandemic” era, and a significant part of my Chair work has been during crises.

> Curricular Engagement & Planning: I’ve restructured program opportunities and supported teaching in multiple modalities.
