Welcome

This is me, Amy Vidali, in a black-and-white face shot. I'm smiling broadly and where large glasses. I'm wearing hope earrings and a dark top. I'm a white, middle-aged woman.

I’m an Associate Teaching Professor and Chair of the the Writing Program at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

.

I joined the faculty in 2018, and prior to that I was in the English Department at CU Denver (2006-2018). Before that was graduate school at the University of Washington, and before that was a long time ago.

.

This site reflects my primary interests, which are writing, rhetoric, disability, access, and social justice.

“A lot of my work comes from a place of despair or fear. I often write to gain some kind of control over aspects of my life or the world that seem too dark to look at directly.” — Lauren Groff
